Like you, I also started with Windows. When you dive into networking, you’ll have some aha moments when you learn about network topics you might have run into working with Windows.
What I really loved when I made the switch, is that with networking your knowledge is useful for a long time. You’ll learn about protocols that are 20-30 years old. I am really familiar with Windows 95, 98, XP, 2000, 2003 but that knowledge is no longer useful.

My friend/coworker Nader achieved getting his certs up to CCIE here and still says it’s invaluable. He gave me his CCNP kit! So I have no more excuses.
