I am doing Rene’s lab https://gns3vault.com/switching/pvrst-per-vlan-rapid-spanning-tree/

but I get this error on my switch "Spanning-tree instance (s) for vlan 10 does not exit.

  1. All vlans are created on each switch
  2. I enable rapid spanning-tree protocol

What am I doing wrong?

Hi David,

There are two things that could go wrong here:

* Make sure the VLANs exist on your switch, which you seem to confirm.
* You need at least one interface that is active for VLAN X. If the VLAN isn’t used anywhere, the spanning-tree instance for that VLAN doesn’t show up.
