Hi Rene,

Just need help on below:

  1. I have Two 4506 switches and its running Different protocol and it also have ether channel configured.
  2. I need to replace this switch with other Vendor may be Procure or Brocade switch

What all things i need to consider and what step i need to follow for this switch replacement.

Hi Ajay,

The most important thing is to check all protocols that are used on your switch(es) and replace them with non-proprietary ones. For example, PaGP is Cisco’s proprietary etherchannel protocol so you might want to replace that with LACP.

This might also apply for other protocols like VRRP / HSRP etc.
