Hi guys!
After reading PIM Bidir & PIM Sparse mode I have listened about 2 roles Designated Forwarder & Designated Router. I would like to know if is the same because it seems that both are responsible to send PIM join packet to RP upstream direction.
But if I inspect the election way I seen that are differents. I hope don’t be mix up.

The designated forwarder is only used in bi-directional PIM. I have a short explanation here:
