I recently got a question along the lines of what protocols support stub networks.? ospf, bgp etc. When i looked at the criteria for exam topics i found nothing on stub networks. Have you come across this Cisco curveball?
Hi Andrew,
That is a tricky question, you have to be careful with the exact wording they use.
OSPF has its stub areas, EIGRP has a stub feature.
Technically, a router running BGP that sends all its traffic to one neighbor and doesn’t have any other connections could also be called a “stub network”. OSPF and EIGRP do really have specific stub features so I’m guessing that’s what they are probably looking for.
