881w#ping 4.2.2.2 source 10.1.10.2
% Invalid source address- IP address not on any of our up interfaces

Hello Mahesh and welcome to the site!

From your output it seems that you are trying to ping the 4.2.2.2 address from an address on the router that doesn’t exist. The ping 4.2.2.2 source 10.1.10.2 command attempts to send a ping to the destination from the interface on the router with an address of 10.1.10.2. If there is no interface on the router with that IP address, then the attempt will fail and you will get an error message telling you that the source IP address is not on any of your up interfaces just like you did.

The source IP address in the command must be on an interface on the router. You cannot issue a ping command with the source IP address of the PC from the router. You must issue the command from the PC itself.

I hope this has been helpful.

Have a Merry Christmas!
