TCP MSS Clamping

Hello,

I am trying to find sample pcap file to understand TCP MSS Clamping process. I have searched it but couldn’t success, could you help me ?

Kind Regards.

Hello Burak.

I don’t have something like that available, however, TCP MSS clamping is a technique by which a client verifies that IP and TCP fragmentation will not occur by actually minimising the size of the segment, and thus of the packet so that during the encapsulation process, the segment will not be fragmented when placed within the IP packet and the IP packet will not be fragmented when placed within the frame.

I hope this has been helpful.
