Terminal Server Errors

I am having some problems with my terminal server - I have 5 devices connected to my terminal server and all of them are showing overruns - I am using a Cisco 2620 router with an interface card - the octal cable is plugged into the port 1 on the interface card and the other ends are plugged into the console port(s) of the devices I am connecting to.

Hi Lisa,

There’s a couple of things I would check:

  • If you switch to port 2, does it make any difference?
  • Have you tried another octal cable?
  • What IOS version are you using...it can't hurt to try another one.

It’s possible that it’s a hardware issue. I’ve had a faulty NM16-A before with similar issues.
